Rumer Willis Shares Positive Update on Bruce Willis' Health and Praises Demi Moore’s Oscar Nomination

Rumer Willis is reflecting on her family’s strong bonds and offering encouraging news about her father, Bruce Willis’ health, while also celebrating her mother Demi Moore’s recent career achievement.

In a heartfelt conversation with the British talk show Loose Women, Rumer, 36, expressed her gratitude for the unwavering support system her family has maintained, even after her parents’ divorce 25 years ago.

“Even after they separated, they established such a strong foundation, always prioritizing my sisters and me. I never had to choose between them,” Rumer shared. “They never created division. We were a family then, and we continue to be one, regardless of anything else. That sense of unity has not only shaped my life but has also given me a wonderful example of co-parenting, which I deeply appreciate.”

When asked about Bruce’s ongoing battle with frontotemporal dementia, Rumer gave a reassuring update, highlighting the family’s close-knit support for one another.

“He’s doing really well,” she said. “Obviously, like so many in California, we worry about the fires and making sure everything is safe. But the beautiful thing is, we’re all so close, and it’s incredible how we come together and support one another. We truly are a team.”

Rumer also spoke with pride about her mother’s historic Oscar nomination for her role in The Substance, praising the recognition as long overdue.

“I am beyond proud of her,” Rumer said. “She was phenomenal in that film, but this nomination represents much more than just that movie. It’s about the entirety of her career, which has not received the recognition it truly deserves. She is incredibly talented. Trust me, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside her during my auditions, and sometimes I find myself thinking, ‘Wow, I forget just how amazing she is at this.’”

Rumer and her family first publicly shared details about Bruce’s health struggles in 2022 when it was revealed that the actor, known for Die Hard and The Sixth Sense, was diagnosed with aphasia, prompting his retirement from acting. In 2023, they updated the public on Bruce’s condition, revealing that he had been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia.

In a joint statement from Bruce’s wife, Emma Heming, Moore, and his children—Rumer, Scout, Tallulah, Mabel, and Evelyn—they thanked fans for their outpouring of love and support.

“Your generosity and kindness have been overwhelming, and we are incredibly grateful for it,” the statement read. “Because we know you love Bruce as much as we do, we wanted to share this update with you.”
