“I can’t trust anyone.”
When The Night Agent returns for its highly anticipated second season, Gabriel Basso’s Peter Sutherland finds himself in a perilous situation. The new trailer, released by Netflix on Dec. 25, teases an action-packed continuation of the series as Peter goes on the run after a botched operation.
The trailer shows the former FBI agent navigating high-stakes scenarios, dodging through crowded streets and exchanging clandestine information while trying to stay under the radar. His situation turns increasingly dire when he realizes multiple individuals are hot on his trail. The reason for his flight? Evidence has surfaced pointing to a major security breach within the CIA.
“We have a mole,” Peter says grimly in the trailer. “Someone is selling leaked American intelligence to the highest bidder. And last night, enough experimental weapons to destroy Manhattan were sold.”

With time running out and trust in short supply, Peter takes matters into his own hands, setting the stage for another adrenaline-fueled season in the shadowy world of espionage.
The trailer also introduces viewers to a pivotal new character: Brittany Snow’s Alice. Described as Peter’s new mentor, Alice serves as his superior and primary contact in Thailand. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Snow shared insights about her character, explaining, “Alice is a highly skilled agent who has grown accustomed to living a solitary life.”
This trait becomes evident in the trailer, where Alice warns Peter about the dangers of forming relationships in their line of work. Her advice strikes a nerve, as Peter remains emotionally tied to Rose Larkin (Luciane Buchanan). Meanwhile, Rose is struggling with the complexities of their relationship, adding an emotional layer to the show’s intense narrative.
The Night Agent season two premieres on Jan. 23, with fans already buzzing about its renewal for a third season. If the new trailer is any indication, viewers can expect plenty of twists, danger, and intrigue ahead.
